MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING

Minutes
Mayor Butto called the session to order at 8:10 p.m. and opened the meeting, stating that the meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, P>L> 1975, c. 231, and has been duly advertised.
The Clerk was asked to call the roll.
Present were: Committeewoman Kaman, Committeeman Zitone,
Committeeman Barbagallo, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Butto
Helen Felter, Clerk, Denis Murphy, Esq.
Absent:
All present were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Approval of Minutes: August 14, 2001
Committeeman Zitone made a motion to approve the minutes of
August 14, 2001.
Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Ord. 2001-19 An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 10 of the Code of the Township of Montague, Entitled Land Use Procedures, for the Purpose of Amending the Fee Schedule for the Land Use Board

@Krepky, PE - Status of New Myrtle Drive & Myrtle DriveThe Committee decided to table action on the above mentioned
roads until the next meeting. They also requested that a separate cost be investigated for Piney Lane and Bill
=s Lane.
New Business
Francioso & Francioso Esq.
A letter was received from Francioso & Francioso, Esq. stating that their client Richard H. Torborg wishes to donate a piece of property he owns to the Township of Montague. After a short discussion, the Committee asked the Township attorney to contact the firm of Francioso & Francioso thanking them for this offer and informing them that the Township would be very pleased to accept this gift but all liens and taxes must be paid before a transfer may occur.

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to approve the above mentioned raffle.
Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Membership Application:

State of New Jersey - Center Related Questions
The Committee noted receipt of the above mentioned letter from the State of New Jersey regarding questions often asked about the establishment of a Town Center.
Public Participation
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to open the meeting to public participation.
Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.
The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.
Desmond Finegan
Mr. Finegan complimented the Township on the memorial service they held honoring the victims of the World Trade Center attack.
R. Bloom
Mr. Bloom had questions regarding the trees being taken down on his road. Committeeman Zitone explained that the area was being cleared so that work could be done on the road and also the electric company was relocating their poles to conform with the correct route of the road.
Evelyn Mills
Mrs. Mills expressed her pleasure at the number of people at the memorial service. In her words
AIt was great.@Mrs. Mills also suggested that the Committee might consider a curfew for the Township - 9:00 p.m. during the week and
10:00 p.m. on week-ends. Mayor Butto felt this was something
worth looking into.
Mayor Butto asked if anyone else would like to speak.
There was no one.
Committeeman Zitone made a motion to close public participation.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.
Executive Session:
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion not to conduct any further business and to go into executive session.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to close the executive session and reopen the regular session of the meeting.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.
