MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING

April 8, 2003

Minutes

Mayor Barbagallo called the session to order at 7:03 p.m. and opened the meeting, stating that the meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, P>L> 1975, c. 231, and has been duly advertised.

The Clerk was asked to call the roll.

Present were: Deputy Mayor Zitone, Committeeman Butto, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Helen F. Felter, Clerk, Denis G. Murphy, Atty.

Absent: Committeewoman Kaman

(with notification)

Committeeman Butto made a motion to go into executive session.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to close the executive session and to re-open the regular session of the meeting.

All present were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Minutes:

Deputy Mayor Zitone made a motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Session of March 25, 2003.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Ayes: Deputy Mayor Zitone, Committeeman Butto,

Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Nays: None

Absent: Committeewoman Kaman

Resolutions

R2003-44 Authorizing Cancellation of Township Certificates

R2003-45 Outside Lien Redemption Block 39, Lot 24.01

R2003-46 Authorizing Cancellation of Township Certificates #33-02

Block 19.03, Lot 18

Committeeman Butto made a motion to adopt all of the above mentioned resolutions.

Deputy Mayor Zitone seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote:

Ayes: Deputy Mayor Zitone, Committeeman Butto,

Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Nays: None

Absent: Committeewoman Kaman

Paving: Grandview Terrace, Cole Haven East

Committeeman Butto made a motion to approve the re-paving of

Grandview Terrace and Cold Haven East.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Salary Increase:

Committeeman Butto made a motion to increase salaries by 4 per cent across the board with the exception of the

Township Committee and new hires.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Nays: None

The Committee noted receipt of the above referenced reports.

Resignation:

Walter VanKirk-Fire Sub-code Official

The Committee accepted Mr. VanKirk's resignation with regret.

Approval of Vouchers - Payment of Bills:

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to approve the payment of all the bills.

Committeeman Butto seconded the motion.

The motion was passed by a unanimous roll call vote:

Ayes: Deputy Mayor Zitone, Committeeman Butto,

Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Nays: None

Absent: Committeewoman Kaman

Correspondence:

Tax Collector's Annual Conferance-Fran Multari

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to approve Mrs. Multari's attendance at the Tax Collector's Annual Conference.

Committeeman Butto seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

State of New Jersey - Welcome Sign Program

The Committee noted receipt of the above mentioned correspondence.

Public Participation

Committeeman Butto made a motion to open public participation.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Reginald Cole

Mr. Cole advised the Committee that there were beer parties being held on the end of Cadoo Road. The Committee thanked him for this information.

Mayor Barbagallo asked if anyone else wished to speak. There was no one.

Committeeman Butto made a motion to close public participation.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.
