MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING

March 8, 2005

Minutes

Mayor Barbagallo called the session to order at 8:00 p.m. and opened the meeting, stating that the meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, P>L> 1975, c. 231, and has been duly advertised.

The Clerk was asked to call the roll.

Present were: Committeeman Sarocco, Deputy Mayor Barbagallo, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Butto,

Atty. Murphy, Clerk Felter

Absent: None

Excused: Committeeman Zitone

All present were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Minutes: Regular Session February 8, 2005

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to approve the minutes of February 8, 2005.

Committeeman Soracco seconded the motion .

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Ordinances:

Second Reading:

Ord. 2005-05 Letter of Approval From HPCC Required For Development in the R4 High Density Residential District

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to approve Ord. 2005-05.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Public Hearing:

Committeeman Lashendock made a motion to open a public hearing.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was approved by a unanimous voice vote.

There was no comment from the public.

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to close the public hearing.

Committeeman Lashendock seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Committeeman Soracco's motion to approve was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Second Reading:

Ord. 2005-06 An Ordinance Requiring the Registration and Licensing of all Rental Properties

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to approve Ord. 2005-06.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Public Hearing:

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to open a public hearing.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

There was no comment from the public

Committeeman Lashendock made a motion to close the public hearing.

Committeeman Soracco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

The motion to approve Ord. 2005-06 made by Committeeman Soracco was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Resolutions

R2005-20 A Resolution Calling for A Fair Alternative to Property Taxes.

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to approve R2005-20

Committeeman Lashendock seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a roll call vote:

R2005-21 A Resolution Requesting Permission to Form a 3^rd Election

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to table R2005-21.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

R2005-22 A Resolution to Support Formation of a New Jersey Wildlife Rehabilitation Licensing Study Commission

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to approve resolutions

Old Business

Foreclosure Properties Returned for No Perk

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to table the above item.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Impact Fees

Mr. William Haggerty, attorney for the Land Use Board, is addressing the issue of impact fees. The Committee will address this matter at a later date.

The Committee noted receipt of the above referenced communication.

Annual Tax Lien Sale

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to advise Mrs. Multari to

proceed with the Tax Sale.

Committeeman Lashendock seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Approval of Vouchers - Payment of Bills:

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to pay all the bills.

Committeeman Lashendock seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Correspondence:

Bruno Group

Committeeman Lashendock made a motion not to rehire the

Bruno Group as grant writers for the Township.

Committeeman Soracco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Jersey Rock & Road Cycling Club

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to approve the request of the Jersey Rock & Road Club to hold their annual High Point Cycle climb.

Committeeman Soracco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

The Committee noted receipt of the above mentioned report.
