MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING
January 8, 2002
Minutes
Mayor Butto called the session to order at 8:10 p.m. and opened the meeting, stating that the meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, P>L> 1975, c. 231, and has been duly advertised.
The Clerk was asked to call the roll.
Present were: Committeewoman Kaman, Committeeman Zitone,
Committeeman Barbagallo, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Butto
Clerk Felter, Atty. Murphy
Absent: None
All present were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Approval of Minutes: 12-11-2001, Executive Session 12-27-01
Regular Session 12-27-01
Committeeman Krebs made a motion to approve the above mentioned minutes.
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo seconded the motion.
The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Resolutions
R2002-09 Removal of Tax Sale Certificate - Block 48, Lot 24
R2002-10 Removal of Erroneous Tax Sale Certificates
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to adopt the above mentioned resolutions.
Committeeman Zitone seconded the motion.
The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:
Ayes: Committeewoman Kaman, Committeeman Zitone,
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Butto

R2002-11 Inter Local Agreement - Walpack Township Court
Committeeman Zitone made a motion to adopt the above mentioned resolution.
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo seconded the motion.
The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

R2002-12 Appointment of Assistant CFO/Treasurer
Committeeman Zitone made a motion to adopt R2002-12.
Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Old Business
Donation of Property to the Township-Mr. Torborg
The Committee acknowledged receipt of a communication from
Mr. Torborg
=s attorney. No action was needed.Susan Zellman, Deputy Director, Board of Chosen Freeholders-
Improvements to Route 653 (Clove Road)
The Committee acknowledged receipt of Deputy Director Zellman
=s letter regarding planned improvements to Route 23.Cell Tower - Wetlands Delineation
The Committee agreed to Dr. Crow
=s proposal to reverse the wetlands delineation, not to exceed $5000.00 and anything over $5000.00 will be paid by Davis Chant also half of the $5000.00 will be paid by Mr. Chant. This proposal will not cost the Township more than $2500.00.Committeeman Zitone made a motion to approve the proposal submitted by Dr. Crow at a cost of $5000.00 - $2500.00 of which is to be paid by Davis Chant and also any amount over $5000.00 will be paid by Davis Chant.
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo seconded the motion.
The motion was passed by a roll call vote:

New Business
Township of Hardyston Resolution Opposing Increases in Basic Cable Rates and Requesting the Congress of the United States to Reregulate Basic Cable.
The Committee noted receipt of the above referenced resolution.
No action was taken at this time.

The Committee acknowledged receipt of the above referenced reports.
Approval of Vouchers - Payment of Bills:
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to pay all the bills.
Committeeman Zitone seconded the motion.
The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:
Ayes: Committeewoman Kaman, Committeeman Zitone,
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Butto

Public Participation
Committeewoman Kaman made a motion to open public Participation.
Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.
The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.
Richard Clauberg
Mr. Clauberg suggested to the Committee that a
Amessage@ board would be very helpful getting announcements to the residents.The Committee agreed to look into it.
Mayor Butto asked if there was anyone else who wished to speak. There was no one.
Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to close public participartion.
Committeeman Zitone seconded the motion.
The motion was passed by a unanimous voice vote.
