MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING

May 27, 2003

Minutes

Mayor Barbagallo called the session to order at 7:15 p.m. and opened the meeting, stating that the meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, P>L> 1975, c. 231, and has been duly advertised.

The Clerk was asked to call the roll.

Present were: Committeewoman Kaman, Deputy Mayor Zitone Committeeman Butto, Committeeman Krebs,

Mayor Barbagallo

Helen F. Felter, Clerk, Denis G. Murphy, Atty.

Absent: None

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to adjourn to Executive Session for matters concerning personnel.

Committeeman Butto seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Deputy Mayor Zitone made a motion to re-open the Regular Meeting.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

The Regular Session re-opened at 8:05p.m.

All present were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Minutes:

Committeeman Butto made a motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Session minutes of 4-22-03.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Ayes: Committeewoman Kaman, Deputy Mayor Zitone,

Committeeman Butto, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Nays: None

Ordinances:

First Reading:

Ord. 2003-19 An Ordinance Adopting Minisink Road as a Township Road.

Committeeman Butto made a motion to approve Ord. 2003-19.

Deputy Mayor Zitone seconded the motion.

The motion was approved by a roll call vote:

Ayes: Committeewoman Kaman, Deputy Mayor Zitone,

Committeeman Butto, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Nays: None

Second Reading:

Ord. 2003-12 An Ordinance Revising the Construction Fee Schedule of the Township of Montague

Committeeman Butto made a motion to table Ord. 2003-12.

Deputy Mayor Zitone seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Second Reading:

Ord. 2003-13 Salary Ordinance

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to approve the above referenced ordinance with a correction of a salary of $28,000.00 for the tax collector.

Committeeman Butto seconded the motion.

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to open the public hearing.

Committeeman Butto seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Public Hearing:

There was no comment from the public.

Committeeman Butto made a motion to close the public hearing.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Ord. 2003-13 was carried by a unanimous roll call vote.

Second Reading:

Ord. 2003-14 An Ordinance Authorizing An Emergency Appropriation

Committeeman Butto made a motion to approve Ord. 2003-14.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Deputy Mayor Zitone made a motion to open the public hearing.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

There was no comment from the public.

The motion made by Committee Butto to approve Ord. 2003-14 was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Resolutions

R2003-57 Outside Lien Redemption

Committeeman Butto made a motion to approve the above referenced resolution.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

County of Sussex-County Route 653

The County of Sussex requested the Committee appoint residents to a consulting committee regarding the work to be done on Clove Rd.

The Committee appointed the following:

Wayne Rumsey, Land Use Board

Joseph Zitone, Township Committee

David Coss, Emergency Management

Joseph Barbagallo, Business Commuinity

Approval of Vouchers - Payment of Bills:

Committeeman Butto made a motion to approve the payment of all the bills contingent on a explanation of the Pitney Bowes bill.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion .

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote:

Ayes: Committeewoman Kaman, Deputy Mayor Zitone,

Committeeman Butto, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Barbagallo

Nays: None

Correspondence:

Annual Tax Lien Sale-Fran Multari, Tax Collector

The Committee noted receipt of the above referenced correspondence.

The Committee noted receipt of the above mentioned report.

Committeeman Butto made a motion to open Public Participation.

Committeewoman Kaman seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

There was no comment from the public.

Committeeman Butto made a motion to close Public Participation.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion .

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.
