MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING

January 27, 2004

Minutes

Mayor Butto called the session to order at 7:00 p.m. and opened the meeting, stating that the meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, P>L> 1975, c. 231, and has been duly advertised.

The Clerk was asked to call the roll.

Present were: Committeeman Sarocco, Committeeman Krebs,

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo, Mayor Butto

Excused: Committeeman Zitone

All present were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Minutes: Reorganization meeting January 3, 2004

Committeeman Sarocco made a motion to approve the Reorganization

Minutes of January 3, 2004.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Ayes: Committeeman Sarocco, Committeeman Krebs,

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo, Mayor Butto

Nays: None

Ordinances:

None

Resolutions

2004-14 Authorizing Cancellation of Township Certificates

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to adopt resolution

R2004-14.

Committeeman Sarocco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Old Business

KSM Engineering, P.C.-Drainage Work, Buckhill Road

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to approve the surveying and design of the swale/catch basis inverts and pipe slopes(if required) also the preparation of the drawing by the Township Engineer, Jack O'Krepky.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

New Business

Montague Fire Department

The Montague Fire Department requested permission from the Township Committee to go out to bid for a new fire truck.

The Committee agreed that they should go out to bid in order to purchase a new fire truck.

Appointments:

Land Use Board - Darin Ponce

Mayor Butto appointed Darin Ponce as Alt. 2 on the Land Use Board.

Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer-Wayne Rumsey

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to appoint Wayne Rumsey as Montague Township's Zoning Officer and Code Enforcement Officer.

Committeeman Sarocco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Housing Inspector-Frank Walsh

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to appoint Frank Walsh as

the Housing Inspector.

Committeeman Sarocco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Full Time Employee for the Department of Public Works-

Jesse Brace/Revack

Committeeman Sarocco made a motion to hire Jesse Brace/Revack

as a full time employee retroactive to January 1, 2004.

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Report:

2003 Annual Tax Report

The Committee noted receipt of the above referenced report.

Approval of Vouchers - Payment of Bills:

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to pay all the bills.

Committeeman Sarocco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Public Participation

Committeeman Sarocco made a motion to open the meeting to the public.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

No one from the public wished to speak.

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to close public participation.

Committeeman Sarocco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.
