MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING



October 12, 2004



Minutes





Mayor Butto called the session to order at 8:10 p.m. and opened the meeting, stating that the meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, P>L> 1975, c. 231, and has been duly advertised.



The Clerk was asked to call the roll.



Present were: Committeeman Sarocco, Committeeman Zitone,

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo, Committeeman Krebs

Mayor Butto,

Atty. Murphy, Clerk Felter

Absent: None



Executive Session:

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to have the Committee go into executive session.

Committeeman Soracco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.



Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to close the executive session.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.



All present were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance.



Mayor Butto gave tribute to Charles Sageese, who has recently passed away, for all the years he served on the Land Use Board and also for the wonderful work he did at Fountain House.



Mayor Butto also congratulated M.A.R.C.H. on their 25th anniversary.



Mayor Butto also thanked the organizers of the "Clean Communities Day." This was Mr. Desmond Finegan's project.



Bid Awards:

Several pieces of surplus highway equipment were put up for bid. The bid packages were opened by the Mayor and only two of the bids were accepted:

1989 F350 $1500.00 Kim Schaffert

Chevy 3500 Military Pick-up Ambulance $259.00 Mark Fasolo

The Municipal Clerk was requested, by the Committee, to re-advertise the remaining equipment.



Approval of Minutes: Regular Session September 14, 2004

Committee Zitone made a motion to adopt the regular session minutes of September 14, 2004.

Committeeman Soracco seconded the motion.

The motion was carried by a unanimous roll call vote:

Ayes: Committeeman Soracco, Committeeman Zitone,

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Butto

Nays: None





Ordinances:

Second Reading:

Ord. 2004-11 An Ordinance Authorizing the Reconstruction, Improvements, and Acceptance of New Myrtle Drive as a Township Road

Committeeman Soracco made a motion to adopt Ord. 2004-11.

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo seconded the motion.



Public Hearing:

There were no comments from the public



Deputy Mayor Barbagallo made a motion to close the public hearing.



Ord. 2004-11 was adopted by a unanimous roll call vote:

Ayes: Committeeman Sarocco, Committeeman Zitone,

Deputy Mayor Barbagallo, Committeeman Krebs, Mayor Butto
