MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETING



MAY 24, 2005



MINUTES



Mayor Barbagallo called the session to order at 8:04 p.m. and opened the meeting, stating the meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, P>L 1975c.

231, and has been duly advertised.



The Clerk was asked to call the roll.



Present were: Deputy Mayor Soracco, Committeeman Lashendock, Committeeman Krebs,

Mayor Barbagallo, Attny. Murphy, Clerk Francisco



Absent: Committeeman Soracco



All Present were asked to join in the Pledge of Allegiance.





Committeeman Lashendock made a motion to approve minutes of April 26, 2005

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.

Approval of Minutes: April 26, 2005



Resolutions:

R2005-39 Refund of Premium Certification #22-04

Committeeman Lashendock made a motion to adopt R2005-39

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.



R2005-40 Township Liens

Committeeman Lashendock made a motion to Adopt R2005-40

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Motion was carried by unanimous voice vote.



R2005-41 Increase in Land Use Budget

Committeeman Lashendock made a motion to table the above referenced motion until next meeting.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion

Motion was tabled until next meeting.

















R2005-43 Award of Birch Tree Project

Committeeman Lashendock made a motion pending engineer approval to award Tilcon the Birch Tree Project.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Motion was carried by a unanimous voice vote.



R2005-44 Resolution Cancelling bids for Fire Truck and Authorizing Solicitation for Bids

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to adopt R2005-44.

Committeeman Lashendock seconded the motion.

Motion was carried by unanimous voice vote.

Old Business:

-Volunteer Background Checks were tabled again and to be discussed with Recreation

Committee

-Health Insurance tabled due to lack of full membership.

New Business:

-State Police Request For Local ordinance or resolution and enforcement of false Burglar/Fire Alarms , attorney to provide township committee sample ordinances at next meeting.

-Summer Session schedule: July 26, 2005 and August 23, 2005



Approval of Vouchers:

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to approve vouchers

Committeeman Lashendock seconded the motion.

Motion was carried by unanimous voice vote..



Correspondence:

-Norwescap Food Bank recognizes as National Hunger Awareness Day June 7



-Clean Communities was thanked publicly by Mayor Barbagallo for the donation of the two benches which can be found outside around the parking area under a shade tree .

Public Participation :

Committeeman Lashendock made a motion to open to the public.

Committeeman Krebs seconded the motion.

Motion was carried by unanimous voice vote.



Reginald Cole spoke regarding the lack of a town noise ordinance

Nina Monahan of Old Mine Commons stated that her neighbors were burning unlawfully on their own property and that they also had a drainage problem.



Joe Regan of Old Mine Commons voiced his concern regarding a noise ordinance.

Rhodi Teufert announced that the Recreation Committee is having a meeting here at the Municipal Building at 7:00 p.m. on June 9, 2005. She also asked for a computer for the library , "rec link" on the township web site and mailing list and postage.



No further public comment was made.

Committeeman Krebs made a motion to Close public Session

Committeeman Lashendock seconded the motion.

Motion was carried by unanimous voice vote.
